I come from an engineering background, having earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering followed by a postgraduate degree in Finance. In the initial years of my career, I focused on advisory roles, collaborating with financial institutions across Africa to facilitate fund-raising. Additionally, I worked with SMEs in South Africa, assisting them raise capital, develop business plans and implement effective go-to-market strategies. In my recent role at African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), I spend most of my time analysing investment opportunities and managing some of our investments. AIIM is an infrastructure investment company with funds under management of USD2.8 billion and a track record extending across eight infrastructure funds. The funds managed and advised by AIIM are designed to invest long-term institutional unlisted equity in African infrastructure projects such as toll roads, renewable energy, power generation, port and communication infrastructure assets.
